SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 2000

Securant Delivers Seamless User Experience Across Leading eCommerce

Platforms; Adds Web-Based User Administration

Securant Technologies, the access management company that secures eBusiness, today announced version 4.5 of its award-winning ClearTrust SecureControl(TM) user access management system. This major new release enables enterprises to centrally secure and rapidly deploy revenue-generating eBusiness applications hosted on the Windows 2000 operating system operating system (OS)

Software that controls the operation of a computer, directs the input and output of data, keeps track of files, and controls the processing of computer programs.
, and Java-based application servers. By providing native integration with these leading eCommerce platforms, ClearTrust SecureControl 4.5 allows enterprises to dynamically manage user access permissions for Web applications based on any or all of these operating environments - from one console or delegated hierarchy of consoles. ClearTrust SecureControl 4.5 also allows enterprises to monitor Web user activity within these platforms to prevent fraud and application misuse. In addition, ClearTrust SecureControl 4.5 now includes a Web interface that allows remote administrators to manage user accounts from a Web browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. In order to view a site, you type its address (URL) into the browser's Location field; for example, www.computerlanguage.com, and the home page of that site is downloaded to you.  without installing any Securant software on their workstation.

"As enterprises deploy new Web applications and Web-enable back-end legacy systems to conduct e-business, a unified security program that deters fraudulent e-business transactions is of high importance, yet scarce IT resources often make that impossible," said Tony Bailey, Director, Enterprise Management Associates. "ClearTrust SecureControl provides a centralized way to manage Web security across multiple operating platforms - allowing enterprises to manage access and transactions with existing personnel."

Native Support for Windows 2000

With the availability of ClearTrust SecureControl 4.5, Securant is shipping the first Web access management system that runs natively on the Windows 2000 operating system and provides out-of-the-box integration with the Active Directory. For enterprises with Windows 2000 eBusiness infrastructures, ClearTrust SecureControl centralizes access management for all Windows-based Web resources to tighten security and reduce administration costs and workloads. ClearTrust SecureControl also leverages user account information already contained in the Active Directory to make dynamic access control decisions.

Centralized Security for Java-Based Application Servers

To accelerate time to market for new Java-based eBusiness systems and eliminate the need to develop built-in security for each application and component, ClearTrust SecureControl 4.5 provides plug-in modules for Enterprise Java Bean See JavaBeans.  (EJB (Enterprise JavaBeans) A software component in Sun's J2EE platform, which provides a pure Java environment for developing and running distributed applications. This capability enables enterprises to centrally manage, from ClearTrust SecureControl, the security policies that govern user access permissions for all their EJB applications. As new applications are developed and deployed they can be "snapped" into and immediately protected by ClearTrust SecureControl. This allows EJB applications to tap ClearTrust SecureControl's comprehensive application level security services Security services are state institutions for the provision of intelligence, primarily of a strategic nature, but also including protective security intelligence. Web-Based User Administration
