ClearOrbit Offers Dramatically Upgraded Release of X.PC Internet-Based Global Supplier Collaboration Suite.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Xtended Process Control Suite Extends Customers' ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) An integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise. Evolving out of the manufacturing industry, ERP implies the use of packaged software rather than proprietary software written by or for one customer.  System to Control the Activities of Trading Partners During Planning, Order Fulfillment, and Shipping

ClearOrbit, the leading provider of real-time supply chain execution and collaboration software solutions, today announced release 5.5 of its dramatically enhanced Xtended Process Control Suite (X.PC). In response to demands from its growing customer base in multiple sectors, including aerospace & defense, high tech, consumer products, and telecommunications, ClearOrbit's new internet-based X.PC has added capabilities to enable seamless collaboration among suppliers, 3PL providers, and contract manufacturers. For any ERP--including Oracle(R) E-Business Suite and SAP(R) R/3(R)--X.PC's service-oriented architecture provides trading partner process automation by directly extending the ERP's functionality during planning, procurement, production, replenishment, and shipping/fulfillment.

The new release of X.PC has dramatic enhancements that include new Internet-based remote printing capabilities for suppliers, so they can quickly generate bar code and RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) A data collection technology that uses electronic tags for storing data. The tag, also known as an "electronic label," "transponder" or "code plate," is made up of an RFID chip attached to an antenna.  labels, as well as a new X.PC "master schedule priorities planning" screen that provides buyers with a single location where demand and capability can be balanced. X.PC's new web-based wizards allow new suppliers to quickly adopt its functionality, without costly external support. Microsoft Office integration now lets buyers and suppliers work within MS Excel, while configurable "time windows" allow buyers and suppliers to collaborate on demand plans and supplier schedules. Enhanced support for non-inventory items allows collaboration on both direct materials (inventory components used in manufacturing operations) and indirect goods (expense items not reflected in inventory).

X.PC Release 5.5 also offers expanded reporting and alerting capabilities, including standard reports and common alerts, such as "missed shipment messaging" and "supplier scorecards," so suppliers can be compared based on common performance metrics. Invoice matching and validation logic built into X.PC automatically reconciles invoices to expected receipts to assist in the AP approval process, and dynamic attachments allow buyers to include attachments stored in the native ERP system. Finally, X.PC's new Quick Ship screen provides a fast interface to reduce the time it takes to process outbound shipments.

"Supplier collaboration has emerged as the key to an optimized supply chain, and therefore a critical component for staying competitive and in today's dynamic global economy," said John Reece, President of ClearOrbit. "But collaboration can be costly to implement and difficult to maintain if the customer is forced to tie multiple back-end systems together. ClearOrbit's approach is to provide the most sophisticated functionality for direct materials collaborative execution, while leveraging the customer's investment in ERP through real-time connectivity."
