Clear Technologies, Inc., has named industry expert Van Symons to lead sales efforts for its mid-market Customer Relationship Management (CRM (Customer Relationship Management) An integrated information system that is used to plan, schedule and control the presales and postsales activities in an organization. ) software package -- C2.

As Vice President of C2 Sales, Van Symons will apply experience and expertise gained during his 25-year career at IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  selling enterprise technologies to rapidly expand Clear's share of the $40-billion CRM software market for small- to mid-size businesses. After joining IBM in 1977 as a systems engineer, Van Symons' performance earned him greater leadership in a series of senior marketing roles, including responsibility for global eServer product line strategy for IBM.
