CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1997--Clear Communications today announced the availability of EarlyWarning(TM) and ReportCard(TM) ClearMarbles(TM) that provide customer network management over the World Wide Web. These software applications enable network service providers to offer customers a window into their virtual T1, T3 and SONET-based networks.

EarlyWarning and ReportCard ClearMarbles provide corporate network managers the real-time management information they need when they bet their businesses on mission-critical applications running over wide area networks. Using these ClearMarbles, they can quickly isolate problems into or out of the network, eliminating guesswork and reducing overall Mean Time To Restore the application, resulting in higher customer satisfaction and a competitive advantage for the network service provider.

As a first-line account management and customer support link, the new software lets carriers open up their operations support systems Operations Support Systems (also called Operational Support Systems or OSS) are computer systems used by telecommunications service providers. The EarlyWarning ClearMarble identifies network alarms and early signs of degradation that precede network outages A network outage is an interruption in availability of a system due to the communication failure of the network. The ReportCard ClearMarble gives the customer an indication of network and circuit availability and performance over the last 30 days and previous 12 months.

A Competitive Advantage for Carriers

EarlyWarning and ReportCard ClearMarbles provide carriers customers with more information about their networks, and gives the customers an added feeling of security and control.
