, Global President of Clear Channel Outdoor. "Providing clients the most credible measurement of our medium's effectiveness is extremely important to maximizing outdoor's long-term potential. The hire comes amidst an industry-wide movement in the U.S. to develop more effective ways to demonstrate outdoor's unparalleled reach and increasing ability to target demographically. Similar initiatives are exploding worldwide. All are aimed at making the medium even more compelling to advertisers seeking to reach today's consumers on the go.

"With independently audited traffic counts of the number of people actually passing our signs each day, outdoor advertising in the U.S. starts its measurement with the richest raw exposure numbers of any medium," added Rocky Sisson, Global Director of Sales and Marketing for Clear Channel Outdoor. "With Tony's experience and leadership, we have the potential to build upon this base to have the most credible of all audience measurement systems."

More relevant metrics

"After years of discussion and debate, it's time now for this industry to deliver more relevant metrics to its clients and their agencies," said Jarvis. "No other medium matches outdoor's ubiquity and impact on its audience. The adoption of state-of-the art measurement methodologies is going to be a dynamic new chapter in this industry's continued growth, not only in the U.S., but worldwide."
