IQ Desk, a mobile software application that provides a virtual
desktop for mobile users, is now available from IQMax. The IQDesk
software provides user-level security Access control to a file, printer or other network resource based on username. It provides greater protection than share-level security, because users are identified individually or within a group. by requiring the user to enter a
user D and password A secret word or code used to serve as a security measure against unauthorized access to data. It is normally managed by the operating system or DBMS. However, the computer can only verify the legitimacy of the password, not the legitimacy of the user. See NCSC. to gain access. With this system, the desktop can be
customized to allow for branding or to provide different sets of
available applications for individual users or user groups. IQMax offers
a PDA-independent platform that includes a set of design rules, software
development kits and common libraries, enabling applications to be
designed to target multiple hardware platforms Each hardware platform, or CPU family, has a unique machine language. All software presented to the computer for execution must be in the binary coded machine language of that CPU. Following is a list of the major hardware platforms in existence today.
