I WOULD like to ask the question who is going to take responsibility for canals in the Liverpool area? The amount of garbage and rubbish thrown into the canal is absolutely disgraceful dis·grace·ful

British Waterways British Waterways is a government body sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Scottish Executive in the United Kingdom. It is the navigation authority for the vast majority of the inland waterways in the UK.  have tidied the paths alongside the canal and made openings and stairs for the public to use but it would appear that no-one is taking responsibility to collect the rubbish.

It does not reflect well on the city or evoke the kind of images to promote the use of the canal into the Albert Dock.
