The fleet test was conducted in conjunction with an independent European testing organization on ten light-duty diesel vehicles over 1,000 miles to evaluate the performance of the company's patented Platinum Plus diesel fuel catalyst in reducing diesel particulate emissions. Previous testing on heavy-duty diesels in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. and the United Kingdom has shown reductions in hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide carbon monoxide, chemical compound, CO, a colorless, odorless, tasteless, extremely poisonous gas that is less dense than air under ordinary conditions. It is very slightly soluble in water and burns in air with a characteristic blue flame, producing carbon dioxide; and particulates of 15 to 40 percent, with fuel economy improvements of five percent. Platinum Plus is a pacesetting diesel fuel additive containing minute amounts of active platinum catalyst. The catalyst is continuously introduced through the fuel into the engine where it catalyzes fuel combustion, resulting in lower emissions and improved fuel economy. The recent test results are consistent with the known ability of platinum to enhance the rate and completeness of combustion reactions. The Platinum Plus fuel catalyst can be used alone or in conjunction with other diesel emission control The selective and controlled use of electromagnetic, acoustic, or other emitters to optimize command and control capabilities while minimizing, for operations security: a. detection by enemy sensors; b. mutual interference among friendly systems; and/or c. technologies, such as oxidizers and particulate filters. "We believe Platinum Plus offers fleet owners, and regulators a cost-effective way to get immediate particulate reduction from existing vehicles. It is our hope to attract the interest of major fuel suppliers to market a premium, cleaner-burning diesel fuel incorporating the Platinum Plus diesel fuel catalyst and have the product in the market by 1997. Meanwhile, fleet and engine testing will continue." Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. is a development-stage company with patent-protected products that reduce emissions from diesel engines while simultaneously improving fuel economy and power. The company's R&D efforts and products are grouped into two categories: Platinum Fuel Catalysts (PFCs) and Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) Reduction Systems.
