Clean Air Partners Invests in a ``Clean Air'' Future; Cleaner Burning Engine Development Acquires Next Level Emissions Testing Capabilities.

Business Editors

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 2002

Clean Air Partners (CAP), a leader in the development and commercialization of high-tech solutions to reduce engine emissions, has purchased an Horiba transient emissions testing station for their San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  Research and Development facility.

The $500,000 test stand will give CAP the capability of instantaneously measuring the lowest levels of engine emissions possible.

"This tester is the most accurate measuring device of its kind on the market," said Dave Morgan Dave Morgan (born August 7, 1944 in Cranmore, Somerset[1]) is a British former racing driver from England. He participated in one Formula One World Championship grand prix, the 1975 British Grand Prix in which, like several others, he crashed during a storm in the , the head of CAP's product development division. Morgan recently joined Clean Air Partners from Kauai Electric, where he was vice president and general manager. "The transient responsiveness of the Horiba will help us to develop cleaner burning engines for heavy-duty trucks, buses, and electric power generation equipment than what is currently available. Because almost nothing gets by the Horiba, our customers will rest assured that their Clean Air Partners' Dual-Fuel(TM) equipment meets the lowest emissions standards," stated Morgan.

Morgan, "The Horiba's mini-dilution tunnel will let us accurately measure particulate matter on-site and thereby decrease the development cycle time for delivering new products to the market."

The addition of this extremely accurate measurement tool aligns with CAP's philosophy of developing engine technologies that produce the lowest emissions.

Clean Air Partners was founded in 1991 to develop technologies that would allow diesel engines to operate with the low emissions benefits of natural gas while retaining the power, efficiency, longevity and cost effectiveness of compression ignition engines. CAP offers time-proven products, which are based on its patented proprietary technologies. About 1,300 heavy-duty truck engines that have been retrofitted with CAP Dual-Fuel(TM) systems and products are currently deployed in the U.S., Mexico and various European countries. CAP's sub-components are used in low emission vehicles produced by some of the world's largest automotive and truck manufacturers. CAP is currently developing innovative low emission Electric Power Generation products for the distributed generation market.
