Claus Kampmann Elected Chairman of TGS-NOPEC.


NAERSNES, Norway -- At the June 16th TGS-NOPEC annual general meeting in Oslo, shareholders elected Claus Kampmann as the Company's new chairman of the board of directors. Mr. Kampmann was first elected to the TGS-NOPEC board in June 2002, and has served as the chairman of the board's compensation committee over the past two years. During his 29-year career with Schlumberger, Claus held a number of executive level positions including president of GECO GECO Groupe d'Étude en Chirurgie Osseuse
GECO Gustave Genschow Co. (German cartridge headstamp) 
 and later Geco-Prakla, vice president of Personnel for Schlumberger Ltd, and president of Oilfield Services for Europe, Africa and CIS Cis (sĭs), same as Kish (1.)

 offshore seismic program in 1980 and joined the Company in 1981. He originally joined the TGS-NOPEC Board in 1998 and has served as chairman since June 1999. He will remain a director on the TGS-NOPEC board, and has pledged to hold his 500,000 TGS-NOPEC shares as long as he serves on the board.
