Classy acts hit the stage.


BIRMINGHAM Independent School of Performing Arts is giving budding budding, type of grafting in which a plant bud is inserted under the bark of the stock (usually not more than a year old). It is best done when the bark will peel easily and the buds are mature, as in spring, late summer, or early autumn.  stage stars a chance to tread the boards this summer.

It is holding Showbusiness Schools in the summer holidays, Monday to Thursdays from 10am to 3.30pm in preparation for a free performance of a show at the end of the summer.

Professional tutors Sophie Lundgren and James Moore James Moore and Jim Moore are the names of more than one person including the following:
  • James Moore (South Carolina politician), colonial governor of South Carolina from 1700–1703 and 1719–1721
  • James Moore (cyclist) (1849–1934), a cycling racer.
 will be on hand to help children gain the confidence and unlock their talent.

The school is based at the Old Fire Station, Moseley Road, which has been renovated for dancing, acting and music classes.

Ian Sandy, founder of BISPA, said: "There is so much demand out there for professional acting lessons but not enough places in Birmingham.

"So we thought it would be great to give children interested in performing arts to get a taster taster /tast·er/ (tas´ter) an individual capable of tasting a particular test substance (e.g., phenylthiourea, used in genetic studies).  of acting and get to perform in play before an audience." There are places available for children from fiveyears-old in three separate shows including High School Musical, Chicago and Hairspray.

The first week course is High School Musical and starts on Monday, July 27.

The second course begins on Monday, August 17 and is Hairspray and the third is Chicago which is Monday, August 24.

The summer schools cost pounds 99 per week and a deposit of pounds 25 is needed.
