Classworks from Curriculum Advantage, Inc. Wins SIIA Codie Award as Best Language Arts/Reading Instructional Solution; Curriculum Advantage, Inc. Also Named Best New Education Technology Company.


ATLANTA & WAYNE, Neb. -- The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) recently awarded Curriculum Advantage, Inc. two prestigious honors at the 2006 Codie Awards, which recognize innovative products, services, and companies. Curriculum Advantage, Inc.'s flagship product, Classworks, received the award as Best Instructional Solution in the Language Arts/Reading Category for elementary grade products. Curriculum Advantage, Inc. also received the education industry's Newcomer of the Year award.

Classworks won over a list of noteworthy Language Arts and Reading products that were named Codie finalists including: KidBiz3000(R), the Lexile Framework(R) for Reading, the Waterford Early Reading Program(TM), and Pearson's QuickReads(R) Technology Edition.

Curriculum Advantage, Inc. purchased Classworks from Houghton Mifflin in 2003 and has established partnerships in the education industry and upgraded the product with the goal to help students succeed in mathematics, Language Arts and Reading. The education industry recognized these efforts by selecting Curriculum Advantage, Inc. as the Newcomer of the Year.

The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) established the Codie Awards in 1986 to recognize the most innovative products and services from the software technology and education industries. More than 1,000 nominations were submitted for the 2006 awards (www.siia.net/codies), which were evaluated by a panel of judges including software trade journalists, mainstream technology writers and experts in educational technology. The award is highly regarded by educators and industry experts.
