Classworks' Availability over the Internet Increases Power, Reach of Research-Based Education Solution.DULUTH, Ga. -- Curriculum Advantage, Inc. announced today that it has completed the first of a three-phase effort to make all components of Classworks, its flagship instructional solution, available over the Internet, a move that substantially increases the availability of the research-based education solution. District and school administrators can now access Classworks over the World Wide Web to view student and class results in real time. The new web-based access allows for a superintendent or principal to bring up a dashboard to view all Classworks implementations across the district at anytime from anywhere. The views can be as broad as whole district scores, or as granular as a defined demographic in an individual class or a single student. Classworks also generates status reports that can be automatically e-mailed throughout the district. "This is a significant step forward for Classworks," said Lindsey Cook, the president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "Making Classworks available over the Internet dramatically increases superintendents' and principals' ability to evaluate data and to oversee the progress and successes at their schools from wherever they may be." Phases two and three are currently under development. The second phase of Classworks on the Internet is the teacher interface, which will allow classroom teachers to monitor and assign individual learning plans for each student from any computer with an Internet connection. The third phase converts Classworks' content - 5,000 hours of lessons, quizzes and remediation - to a form available via the Internet. To date, some 4,000 of the 10,000 activities are ready for browser-based access. All Classworks content will be available on-line by the time phase two is complete. Classworks is a leader in computer-based student instruction in K-12 for English/Language Arts, Reading and Mathematics. Adapting the content for the Internet is a painstaking process, as the conversion must be completed in such a way as to maintain its research-based integrity. "Much of the power of Classworks is in its research-based instructional design Instructional design is the practice of arranging media (communication technology) and content to help learners and teachers transfer knowledge most effectively.
