Classroom Olympians Video Contest.


You and your class can win chance to be on TV!

We want to see you at the Olympic Games Olympic games, premier athletic meeting of ancient Greece, and, in modern times, series of international sports contests. The Olympics of Ancient Greece


Although records cannot verify games earlier than 776 B.C.
 ... Scholastic at the Olympic Games, that is! This unique television event will air weekdays after school from September 18-29 on MSNBC MSNBC Microsoft/National Broadcasting Company  during the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. The show will feature Olympic events, profiles of Olympians, and exciting features about Australia and Olympic history. But to make this program a success, we need serious star power: we want you and your class to be on the show! Have your teacher videotape you and your class, following the script and instructions provided here. Fifty classes will have their video clips A short video presentation.  chosen to introduce the show and its features. Entries will be judged on creativity, quality, and overall pizzazz. Winning teachers will be contacted no later than September 5. They will be notified regarding the air date of their clip. Tapes cannot be returned.

How to Enter

* Make a colorful banner identifying your teacher's name, your school, your city, and state. Make sure this is visible in each shot.

* Label your tape clearly with the words "Classroom Olympians," your teacher's name, your school, city, state, your school phone number, and a number where your teacher can be reached over the summer.

* For each clip, choose a line from the script to the right. Please pause for at least 10 seconds between each clip.

* Each individual clip should last no longer than 15 seconds (you may send as many clips as you'd like on one tape; choose one line per individual clip).

* No music should be used in the presentations.

* Now it's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a  for "Scholastic at the Olympic Games!"

* We read the Scholastic magazine -- (the magazine you subscribe to Verb 1. subscribe to - receive or obtain regularly; "We take the Times every day"

Suggestions

* Ask parents to lend your teacher equipment and serve as camera operators.

* Digital video cameras are preferred, although we can use tapes from any type of video camera.

* Dress in athletic uniforms or hold props to represent your favorite Olympic sports The Olympic sports comprise all the sports contested in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. The current Olympic program consists of 35 sports with 53 disciplines and more than 400 events — the Summer Olympics include 28 sports with 38 disciplines, and the Winter Olympics . Be creative!

* Clips should be shot with a wide frame, showing the entire class; after the class shots, the camera person can capture individuals and small groups delivering lines from the script.
