AFFLUENT motorists hit by the recession are ditching their supercar Supercar is a term used for a high-end sports car, typically an exotic or rare one, whose performance is highly superior to that of its contemporaries. Their only current model, the Caterham Seven, is a direct evolution of the Series 3 Lotus Seven designed by Colin Chapman.  has become an unusual benefi- ciary of the economic downturn with an increasing number of owners downsizing their six-figure chargers in favour of pre-owned, but ironically faster, versions of the legendary Seven.
