Classic car show draws the crowds.


THERE were plenty of Pontiacs, a fair few Fords and even a selection of Scimitars as petrolheads pulled up in the Midlands for a classic car show.

Auto clubs like Dudley's Granada Classics and Hednesford Motorcyclists were in Walsall Arboretum Walsall Arboretum is a public park in Walsall, West Midlands.

It comprises a number of distinct areas, including:
  • A Boating Lake
  • A Bowling Green and Club House
  • Several Acres of open playing fields
  • A Municipal Golf Course
  • A Children's Play Area
 yesterday as thousands of visitors enjoyed the spectacle of around 450 vehicles.

Among the exhibitors were Robert Bradbury, from Coventry, with his collection of three Triumph cars and 50-year-old Mark Moorfield, from Oldbury, with his 1996 red and white AC Cobra replica.

"It got quite a lot of attention because of its unusual colours - most AC Cobras are in metallic blue or green," said Mr Moorfield. Nearby Beetles and camper vans from the Historic VW Club lined up next to Jaguars and Ford Capris.
