) today announced that five lawsuits brought against Chipcom Corporation, which had been filed prior to 3Com's purchase of the company, have been dismissed without leave to amend by Judge Douglas P. Woodlock of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts The United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts is the Federal district court whose jurisdiction is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The first court session was held in Boston in 1789. .

The lawsuits, filed in June 1995, relate to claims brought on behalf of stockholders who had purchased Chipcom stock between Feb. 8, 1995, and May 26, 1995. Subject to appeal, the dismissal concludes all five cases.

3Com Corporation acquired Chipcom Corporation in October 1995 subsequent to the filing of the complaints. 3Com has since consolidated the two companies' product lines and integrated engineering Integrated Engineering is a multi-disciplinary, design project based engineering degree program.
