Commencing April, COMIT Gruppe will become a specialist Systems Integrator for Clarus Settlement(TM) in Europe.

COMIT Gruppe was chosen because of its position in the financial services sector, being one of the key partners in the development of the Paynet EBPP system in Switzerland, iCommerce.ie Marketplace strategy and EBPP (Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment) designs for major banks. COMIT Gruppe bring over 20 years of consulting knowledge in the payment industry.

The market potential for on-line settlement via electronic payments is huge. McKinsey estimates that 12 billion invoices are mailed annually each costing a minimum of $2. Even companies sourcing and agreeing transactions on-line are still forced onto paper for payment. Ninety per cent of e-marketplaces require customers to pay off-line, according to IDC. Besides the inconvenience, paper-based payment is costly as well as time-consuming.

Release 3.0, launched on February 28, 2001 includes features that more tightly integrate the processes of B2B with back office control.
