Explains the significance of strategic alliances

The Texas Credit Union League A credit union league (League) is a United States state-level trade association for credit unions, which are non-profit financial cooperatives. Credit union leagues hold a primary interest in the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).  (TCUL) has renewed its strategic alliance with Clarke American, the fastest growing provider of checks and related products and services for credit unions.

The TCUL has held a strategic alliance with Clarke American for the past 20 years.

and sales of TCUL, said, "we took the opportunity to review what all the major providers had to offer. We came back to Clarke American. Clarke American is really ahead of the curve with products like ServiceLine Plus and In-Touch(R) Messaging. But it also supports the best share draft product with superior customer service."

Hodge wants credit unions to understand the value of using league's preferred business affiliates, like Clarke American. Member credit unions benefit from the strategic alliance relationship because the league can negotiate the best deal, a deal that a small credit union can't negotiate on its own. In return, the league helps market the product to credit unions. In the state of Texas, 91 percent of credit unions are members of the league, which enables the league to negotiate deals based on an economy of scale.

"I want to reinforce the importance of the alliance," Hodge said. "We research the vendors for the credit union in ways the credit union might not have the time to do. The league acts as an agent, to find the best vendors and deals for our member credit unions."

In considering Clarke American for the two-year agreement, TCUL analyzed an·a·lyze

"We feel that passing such a stringent list of criteria is an honor As a verb, to accept a bill of exchange, or to pay a note, check, or accepted bill, at maturity. To pay or to accept and pay, or, where a credit so engages, to purchase or discount a draft complying with the terms of the draft. ," said Donald Dolan, vice president and general manager of Clarke American's Credit Union Division. "At the same time, that criteria is something that all credit unions should consider a requirement from a share draft provider. Our primary goal and the goal of our partners is the same - member satisfaction. If we provide a great share draft and great service the member is happy; credit unions can expect that consistent quality from us."
