Clarke American Contact Center Facility to Close.SAN ANTONIO San Antonio (săn ăntō`nēō, əntōn`), city (1990 pop. 935,933), seat of Bexar co., S central Tex., at the source of the San Antonio River; inc. 1837. -- Clarke American Checks, Inc. today announced plans to close its Charlotte, NC contact center facility. Clarke American opened the facility, which currently handles calls for financial institution partners and customers, in 1999 as part of the company's channel shift strategy. The facility currently employs approximately 230 associates. All calls will be re-routed to other facilities within the Clarke American contact center network. LaRhesa Pollock, Clarke American's Vice President of Corporate Communications, stated, "We have an excellent relocation program in place for associates who wish to seek opportunities within the company. For those not interested in relocating, a comprehensive outplacement out·place·ment n.
