The County Amateur League called up Meltham striker Tom Mathews and also had players from Huddersfield sides Bay Athletic, Golcar United and Storthes Hall for the second-round tie at Bradford side Campion's Manningham Mills ground, and he offered the greatest threat to the Old Boys.

Mathews had two decent chances to equalise, but put both over the bar, and the Old Boys, who also included Sam Burns, of Huddersfield side Collegians, underlined their superiority in the final 20 minutes, when Steve Tierney (Stanningley) and Mathew Jackson (Gildersome Spurs) scored further goals.

Having previously seen off the Cumberland and Cheshire County Leagues, the Old Boys League are the first side through to the quarter-finals.
