The county board will also use the system to vote on legislation and automatically count the votes, eliminating the need for tedious, time-consuming recounts.

began using a similar SIRE solution over a year ago and Clark County officials plan to build upon the success they have witnessed at the city level and create a more expansive implementation for use throughout the county. They will look to SIRE to enhance pre-meeting activities such as agenda creation; meeting activities including taking minutes of the meeting; and post-meeting activities such as posting agendas with attachments, summaries, minutes and posting video to the Web. Posting agendas to the Internet for easy public access will eliminate most need for hard-copy agendas and save millions of sheets of paper over time.

"Clark County is simplifying their legislative management in all aspects by using the technology we and our partners provide," said Kris Painter, president of SIRE Technologies. "Tax-payers will also appreciate the improved efficiency because the county will spend fewer tax dollars on processes and procedures that were previously nothing short of resource-sapping."
