A native of England, Long graduated from the University of Essex in Colchester, England, with a bachelor of arts degree in United States studies. He earned a master's degree in history from California State University, Los Angeles California State University, Los Angeles (also known as Cal State L.A., CSULA, or "'CSLA"') is a public university, part of the California State University system. . Prior to joining Clark College, Long served on the faculty at California State University, Dominguez Hills California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) is a campus of the California State University system. It is located in the Los Angeles suburb of Carson, California.
