Clarity Visual Systems(R) today announced it has expanded its popular VideoWall display series with a new 40-inch diagonal LCD video wall display, available in SVGA (Super VGA) A screen resolution of 800x600 pixels. Third-party vendors extended IBM's VGA display standard and were the first to use the term. SVGA has also referred to 1,024x768 resolutions. The thinnest and most lightweight rear-projection multi-stacking display system on the market, the WN-4030 has an installed depth of only 16 inches deep and weighs just 65 lbs. It features rear and side flush-mounting and Clarity's patent-pending optical system that provides excellent brightness and image clarity with low power consumption and longer lamp life. The display is designed for use in dynamic signage applications where displays need to be stacked in multiples on both the vertical and horizontal axis, as well as in entertainment video wall and command & control markets.

"Our customers have asked us for a multi-stacking display based on our breakthrough optical engine design," said Paul E. Gulick, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "We have produced a 40-inch display that delivers high image quality in a slim, lightweight package. The WN-4030 represents a new standard in price/performance for large screen digital displays, giving system designers a better solution for their customers and providing a price point that allows high quality displays to penetrate new markets."

The WN-4030 requires zero clearance for side and back mounting, giving Clarity LCD technology an edge over rear-projection CRT (1) (C RunTime) See runtime library.

The display operates with low power illumination technology (100 Watt), achieving long lamp life and excellent brightness even in high ambient light conditions. Plus, the units have 100 percent front and rear service capability. The result is exceptional image quality with low maintenance requirements and easy serviceability (system) serviceability - The ease with which corrective maintenance or preventative maintenance can be performed on a system (e.g. by a hardware service technician). The display will begin shipping in October 1999 at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $8,495 for the WN-4030-S (SVGA), and $7495 for the WN-4030-V (VGA).
