eMAGE Combines Cogit Corp.'s Visitor Relationship Management

Services With Claritas' Consumer Segmentation Systems

Claritas Inc. and Cogit Corp. Monday announced an agreement to incorporate Claritas' proprietary consumer segmentation systems, PRIZM PRIZM Potential Rating Index for Zip Marketers (Claritas, Inc.)

(R) and MicroVision(R), into Cogit's visitor relationship management services, enabling Web marketers to increase response from anonymous Web visitors by optimizing content for each visitor.

Under terms of the agreement, Claritas, the premier provider of intelligent marketing information and target marketing services, will market private label versions of Cogit's visitor relationship management services to be known as eMAGE Profile(TM) and eMAGE Target(TM). Cogit is regarded as a leading provider of such services within the Internet industry.

It will also give marketers the much-needed capability of linking offline marketing with online marketing programs via a consistent consumer segmentation system, since both PRIZM and MicroVision are linked to countless offline marketing databases.

Peter Corrao, CEO of Cogit, was equally as enthusiastic about the relationship.

By combining Cogit's patent-pending analytics and real-time technology with the power of the segmentation systems, Web marketers will be able to monetize content to increase visitor response and revenue," Corrao said.

Nascenzi explained that consumer marketers primarily use PRIZM and MicroVision to segment their marketplace and target the customers who are most likely to purchase their products. The two segmentation systems, which are regarded as the standard in the market research industry, also enable marketers to determine their target customers' lifestyles and what they read, listen to, watch and surf, so that marketing programs can be crafted to appeal to their best customers and prospects.

Nascenzi and Corrao emphasized that both companies are vigilant in protecting consumer privacy. PRIZM and MicroVision target at the ZIP and ZIP+4 level and under Cogit's privacy policy all personally identifiable information In information security and privacy, personally identifiable information or personally identifying information (PII) is any piece of information which can potentially be used to uniquely identify, contact, or locate a single person.  (such as name and address) is permanently stripped out of consumer profiles so that all visitors remain anonymous.
