Claris announces first CD edition of award-winning FileMaker Pro for Macintosh and Windows; Over 20 customized templates for home, small business and educators plus ClickBook and Claris Organizer.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 1995--Claris Corporation, a leading worldwide vendor of Windows and Macintosh software for business, education and home, today announced FileMaker Pro Deluxe, a brand new edition of FileMaker Pro, the award-winning end user database.

The Macintosh version includes FileMaker Pro 2.1 (on diskettes plus full printed documentation) along with a CD containing Claris Organizer, Claris' award-winning Personal Information Manager ($49 value) and ClickBook, a utility that formats documents for printing double-sided booklets ($69 value). The Windows version also includes FileMaker Pro 2.1 (on diskettes plus full printed documentation) and a CD containing ClickBook.

Both Macintosh and Windows CDs also feature over 20 brand new ready-to-run customized templates, which can be easily modified at any time. Template users can get started managing and entering data immediately for a variety of purposes. The new CD contains the following templates: For businesses: Contact Manager; Lead Tracking Manager; Expense Manager; Invoice System; Project Manager; Personnel Records; Employee Leave Form; Job Search Database; Job Application Form;Buy vs. Lease Analysis; and Product Manager. FileMaker Pro Deluxe for Windows, with a suggested retail price of $129, requires a 286-based processor (386SX or greater recommended) with 3MB RAM (4MB recommended), Windows 3.0 or higher in standard or enhanced mode, Hard disk and CD ROM drive, 1 floppy drive, VGA video adapter, Mouse or other pointing device required for file design.

FileMaker Pro Deluxe for Macintosh, with a suggested retail price of $149, requires an Apple Macintosh Plus, Centris, Classic, LC, SE, Performa, Portable, PowerBook, II, or Quadra computers (Macintosh LC, II family, or later recommended) with Hard disk and CD ROM drive and minimum 1MB memory (2MB required for System 7, 4MB recommended). It also requires Apple System Software 6.05 or later (Apple System 7 recommended and required for System 7 features).

Both Macintosh and Windows editions, which offer a new 90-day guarantee, will be available starting in July through authorized Claris resellers.
