Clarion Hospital Selects HMS to Provide Information Technology Infrastructure.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Healthcare Management Systems, Inc.([R]) (HMS) announced today that it was selected by Clarion Hospital to supply an integrated hospital information system. For Clarion Hospital, an 86-bed facility in Clarion, Penn., HMS will provide a full suite of clinical and financial software applications to help the facility implement an electronic health record (EHR).

Clarion Hospital's capital investment to update their hospital information system reinforces their commitment to providing comprehensive quality healthcare to the community. With the HMS system, doctors will have 24-hour access to patient records which should have a positive effect on medical outcomes, and HMS' inpatient EHR is CCHIT Certified(sm) for 2007.

"Our IT committee, with help from our management company QHR, developed a thorough evaluation process which resulted in our selecting HMS.
