Clarify Chooses Sterling for Enterprise Management Platform Integration; SOLVE:Diplomat Synchronizes Data Between HP OpenView and Clarify's ClearHelpDesk.

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 1998--Sterling Software's Operations Management Operations management is an area of business that is concerned with the production of goods and services, and involves the responsibility of ensuring that business operations are efficient and effective.  Division announced that Clarify has selected SOLVE:Diplomat as its solution for Enterprise Management Platform (EMP EMP

) integration.

Sterling's SOLVE:Diplomat allows Clarify's ClearHelpdesk customers to automatically synchronize See synchronization.  problem management data with HP OpenView HP OpenView was a Hewlett Packard product range consisting of an extensive portfolio of network and systems management products. In 2007 the entire HP OpenView portfolio was rebranded under the strengthened HP Software name. , as well as with other enterprise management platforms from vendors such as Computer Associates and Tivoli.

"SOLVE:Diplomat is the best solution for Clarify customers who want to share trouble tickets with management platforms," says Rod Lehman, director of enterprise support for Clarify. "With SOLVE:Diplomat, Clarify customers can easily centralize cen·tral·ize

trouble ticket information and deploy enterprise-wide problem management in mission-critical operations. The result is improved service delivery and customer satisfaction."

As Clarify's recommended product for EMP integration, SOLVE:Diplomat expands Clarify's previous support for HP OpenView to include all of the major EMP vendors. The result is expanded functionality on additional platforms.

"Clarify customers can now translate system events into meaningful trouble tickets, including associated business rules, without duplicating effort in the problem management system," says Patricia Bailey, product manager for SOLVE:Diplomat. "That saves time, reduces the risk of error, and improves service. With this approach, the help desk can display a total picture of system events related to mission-critical applications and hardware -- despite different applications running on different platforms under different operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics. In practice, many of these groupings may overlap. ."

For example, a Clarify user can log a problem report that results in notification of a network Help Desk or support system staff member on another problem management application. Changes to the trouble ticket made within the Help Desk or support systems are automatically updated in the Clarify version of the ticket, so the Clarify user remains current on the status of the request.

SOLVE:Diplomat is not limited to EMP integration. It allows enterprises to make a vast array of business critical applications interoperable The ability for one system to communicate or work with another. By sharing information, business rules, and processes across multiple systems, organizations can seamlessly support the entire customer management process.
