Clarify Announces Sybase System 11-Ready Applications for Customer Support Management; Comprehensive product suite leverages improved scalability and query optimization.

, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1995--Clarify Inc. today announced plans to support Sybase System An earlier family of SQL development tools from Sybase that included SQL Server, SQL Toolset (design, development and control) and Client/Services Interfaces (distributed database architecture). It is no longer supported. See SQL Server.  11 with an upcoming release of its market-leading customer support management system.

Clarify's products help organizations quickly and cost-effectively improve customer support, product quality and employee productivity. Clarify has been working closely with Sybase since the development of its first product suite, which shipped in September 1992.

Clarify participates in Sybase's Early Access Program, and is currently testing its applications on System 11. The Early Access Program provides Clarify continuous insight into Sybase's development efforts so that customers have access to the latest technology in the earliest time frames. Clarify is also an active member in the Sybase Open Solutions Partner program, and regularly participates in a variety of joint education and marketing activities such as the Sybase Seminar Series.

The Clarify application suite includes ClearSupport for product support call management, Clear Helpdesk for internal help desk management, Diagnosis Engine for problem resolution, ClearQuality for product change requests and quality assurance, and ClearLogistics for field service and inventory control. The product family will take advantage of many of System 11's new features, including: -0-

-- Logical memory manager: allows partitioning of system memory, so database administrators can control which data is most quickly accessible

-- Private log cache: eliminates performance bottleneck when multiple users are updating the database with simultaneous rather than sequential logging

-- Improved SMP (Symmetric MultiProcessing) A multiprocessing architecture in which multiple CPUs, residing in one cabinet, share the same memory. SMP systems provide scalability.
