Clarification.
In an article in the June June: see month. 2002 Solutions!, "The Top 10 Global Paper Companies," Nippon Nippon (nĭp`ŏn, nĭpŏn`), name for Japan, derived from Dai Nippon, meaning Great Japan. The expression comes from the Chinese ideograph for the place where the sun comes from, or Land of the Rising Sun. Unipac Holding, the company created by the merger between rivals Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. and Daishowa Paper Manufacturing Co., was not included on the list. Updated information shows that ongoing effects of the merger have made Nippon Unipac officially Japan's largest papermaker, with total sales of JY 1211.4 billion (US$ 10.1 billion) compared to Oji Paper's JY 1203.8 billion (US$10.04 billion.)
