Reacting to misleading statements in the news, Santa Monicans for a Living Wage today stated that the beachfront beach·front

 Jonathan Club The Jonathan Club is a prestigious private social club in Los Angeles, California, U.S. It maintains two clubhouses, one in downtown Los Angeles at 545 South Figueroa Street (built in 1924) and one on the beach in Santa Monica.  has no connection to the new business/community coalition, is not a member of the Chamber of Commerce and has never participated in its efforts supporting a "living wage" for the city of Santa Monica.

Spokespersons for Santa Monicans for a Living Wage also made it clear that the Jonathan Club has not been involved with the coalition's ballot initiative to put the "living-wage" issue before the voters.
