Claridge's return; IN BRIEF.


STRIKER Steve Claridge Stephen Edward Claridge (born 10 April 1966) is an English football player, pundit and coach. He plays as a striker. He is currently now playing for Harrow Borough football club of the Ryman Premier League, after being released by Bournemouth on January 3 2007.  is to come out of retirement at the age of 43 to help cash-strapped Blue Square South club, Weymouth.

Claridge, a former player-manager of the south coast club six years ago, is to play for nothing against Bromley in Saturday's home clash.

Claridge has to date played 1,008 professional games in a career spanning more than two decades. Weymouth chairman Ian Ridley Ian Ridley (born February 15 1934) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne in the VFL.

Ridley was a rover who was handy around goals and a 5 time premiership player with Melbourne.
 said: "Steve is coming back to help us out. He wants to get playing again."
