 in 1979. She then joined BT in 1984 as a management and development accountant. As senior project manager at BT between 1988 and 1993, she led the development and implementation of one of the first handheld handheld: see personal digital assistant.  job-reporting systems for field engineers. . In August 2000, Ighodaro was appointed as financial controller of BTopenworld, London. This involves the financial management of BTopenworld, the UK's first mass-market broadband internet See broadband.  launch, and of portal, channel and interactive TV development. She is also responsible for financial and strategic support for joint ventures and licensing agreements. Ighodaro has been a member of council since 1995, and a member of the international committee since 1994 (she became chairman in 2000). Between 1995 and 1996, she was a member of the Europe committee and from 1996 to 1997 she was a member of the membership committee and a membership assessor. She joined the marketing committee in 1997, and served on the fellowship fellowship Graduate education A post-residency training period of 1–2 yrs in a subspecialty–eg, hand surgery, which allows a specialized physician to develop a particular expertise that may have a related subspecialty board; fellowship time is often  working party and on the president's task force. She is currently a member of the executive committee and the appointments committee. Ighodaro was spokesperson for Global Business Week in 2000 and 2001.
