Ckem tests hot & cold.
The Lockheed Martin Compact Kinetic Energy Missile (Ckem) underwent
two tests, conducted under the Ckem Advanced Technology Demonstrator
programme, at Aerojet and ATK facilities in mid-March. The Attitude
Control Motor's (ACM) tests demonstrated the ability to perform in
hot, cold and ambient temperatures verification of the ACM's
structural integrity was also performed during the series of 24
flight-weight test units. At the ATK facility the dual pulse rocket
motor's second pulse underwent a ballistic performance test, which
also included demonstrating motor operation and comparing the results to
pre-test predictions.
