Civil servants to be paid partly in 2,000-yen banknotes.


TOKYO, Oct. 23 Kyodo

The government will pay part of the salaries of central government officials in 2,000-yen banknotes to boost the circulation of the new note, Vice Finance Minister Toshiro Toshiro is a given name of Japanese origin. It can also be transliterated as "Toshio". Individuals

At the Finance Ministry, part of the salaries will be paid in 2,000-yen bills from November, Muto said.

The Bank of Japan has also decided to do the same.
