Civil liberties.


LWVUS LWVUS League of Women Voters of the United States  and individual Leagues nationwide have been working to further discussion on the relationship between national security protection efforts and civil liberties. Many Leagues have sponsored public forums on this topic, and more are being planned. The LWVUS Web site was expanded to provide resource materials on this important topic. Go to www. lwv.org/join/justsociety/civil liberties.html for these materials, including those related to the Liberty Circles public education effort designed by the LWV of Miami-Dade and utilizing materials developed by other Leagues, among them the LWV of Illinois Illinois, river, United States
Illinois, river, 273 mi (439 km) long, formed by the confluence of the Des Plaines and Kankakee rivers, NE Ill., and flowing SW to the Mississippi at Grafton, Ill. It is an important commercial and recreational waterway.
. LWVEF is also seeking external funding to expand resources available for Leagues to undertake more efforts in this important area.
