City turn focus back to league.

David Ronald (Dave) Jones (born August 17 1956 in Liverpool) is an English football manager currently in charge of Cardiff City.
 

WITH their hold on the Welsh Cup The Welsh Cup is a knock-out football competition contested annually by teams from Wales.

The Football Association of Wales is the organising body of this competition, which has been run (except during the two World Wars) every year since its inception in 1877-78.
 still secure, Bangor City will turn their focus to gaining much-needed league points when Aberystwyth Town visit Farrar Road tomorrow (2.30pm).

Neville Powell's side have not enjoyed the best of starts to the Welsh Premier campaign, lying 13th in the table with just two wins in seven matches, although their early fixture list has included meetings with title contenders Rhyl, The New Saints and Llanelli. He is currently playing for Aberystwyth Town. , who has enjoyed a 3-0 Welsh Cup win at Bryntirion Athletic and a 2-2 Loosemores Cup draw with Llanelli since taking the reins from Brian Coyne.

"They've had a change of manager and had a good result against Llanelli in the week, but Aber are always a tough side who we've had some great battles with over the years," said City boss Powell.

"We had the edge over them last season, beating them in the League Cup semi-final and final of the Welsh Cup, and gaining a win and a draw against them in the league, but they're nearly always close games.

"It's important we kick on in the league now and pick up some points, especially at home."

Powell has doubts over three key players going into today's encounter, although after training on Thursday he was optimistic the trio would figure.

Both clubs agreed to delay tomorrow's fixture 24 hours due to Wales' World Cup qualifying match in Finland the previous day.

. TWO goals from 18th birthday boy Jamie Aston helped Bangor City Reserves to a 5-1 extra time victory over Bro Goronwy in the North Wales Coast FA Junior Cup second round on Thursday.

Alex Jones gave the Anglesey League side a 22nd minute lead only for Aaron Richmond to level six minutes later.

Fitness told in the added 30 minutes, Aston striking twice for the Caernarfon and District League team before Steven Jones and Ifan Thomas notched further goals.

. BANGOR City's Welsh Youth Cup second round tie against Wrexham will take place next Tuesday, October 13, at the Racecourse Ground, kick-off 7.30pm.
