New York City Economic Development Corporation Overview
New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is a non-profit local development corporation that promotes economic growth across New York City's five boroughs.

More than 887,000 passengers passed through the Passenger Ship Terminal in 2003, up from 425,000 ten years ago. The industry contributes about $800 million a year to New York's economy as cruise passengers often spend a few days in the City staying in hotels, seeing shows and eating in restaurants, according to the Cruise Lines International Association. In addition, it is estimated the cruise industry in 2004 will provide more than 3,300 direct and indirect jobs in the City.
