City to tackle teen binge drinking.


COVENTRY is to get a share of a pounds 1.4 million government windfall to tackle teenage binge drinking binge drinking An early phase of chronic alcoholism, characterized by episodic 'flirtation' with the bottle by binges of drinking to the point of stupor, followed by periods of abstinence; BD is accompanied by alcoholic ketoacidosis–accelerated lipolysis and  in the summer holidays.

Children's Secretary Ed Balls said the city, along with Birmingham and the Black Country, would get a share of the cash, aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour.

The nationwide crackdown will target 69 youth crime priority areas, including Birmingham, Sandwell, Walsall and Coventry.

The money will be in addition to the pounds 350,000 that each area is receiving this year to tackle anti-social behaviour and youth crime.

The crackdown has been prompted by feedback from police and youth services, who say alcohol remains a major factor influencing low-level youth crime and anti-social behaviour.

Communities are being asked to submit a threepoint plan to show how they will use the money on prevention and enforcement.

These will include confiscating alcohol, using dispersal dis·per·sal
