City to clean up act.


A campaign to clean up a North East city has been given a pounds 70,000 Government grant.

The scheme will tackle environmental crime in Sunderland's East End and Hendon and responds to the concerns of local communities by taking action against anti-social behaviour.

Home Office Minister Hazel hazel, any plant of the genus Corylus of the family Betulaceae (birch family), shrubs or small trees with foliage similar to the related alders. They are often cultivated for ornament and for the edible nuts.  Blears said: "I'm really pleased to see Sunderland City Council working with the Home Office on a 100-day clean-up.
