This may be useful for schools as part of a litter awareness initiative. The pupils could ensure it was kept free of litter and at the same time learn the effects of dumping your litter illegally. Businesses could also play their part and adopt a an area of the city which needs to be cleaned and kept clean. Adopt the pavement: Local food takeaway initiative for businesses to collectively fund the cleaning of the pavements adjacent to their premises. lVolunteer Days: People of all ages could get involved to help clean up our city. Landlord Day: The local community should list problem properties and on this day they should be reported to the council to designated operators. Chewing-gum Day - Everyone could give a helping hand to clean up a section of pavement in the city centre. Anti-Litter Day: One day every month when we raise awareness about litter problems.
