 as the seventh largest city in America, San Antonio this summer continued collecting accolades that confirm the obvious: San Antonio is a city on the move.

Among the latest in a string of high rankings for the city:

* Fortune Magazine ranked the city's real estate market as the best in the nation for 2006, a lofty position validated by the area's housing market remaining quite strong despite a downturn in most other parts of the country.

* Fast Company recently called San Antonio one of America's "15 Hot Cities for Creative Types."

* Expansion Management placed the city among the top five of "America's Hottest Cities."

* Southern Business & Development magazine listed San Antonio as one of the nation's economic growth leaders in its annual "Top Deals & Hot Markets" feature.

* Even HGTV HGTV Home and Garden Television  joined the party by declaring the city to be among the "hottest and trendiest" residential real estate markets in the country, particularly noting the area's low housing costs when compared to other hot markets.

Companies and organizations headquartered in San Antonio also continue to be applauded:

* Fortune ranked AT&T No. 1 on its list of most-admired companies, followed closely by locally-based Clear Channel Communications Not to be confused with clear channel radio stations, which are AM radio stations with certain technical parameters.

* Fortune also rated Valero Energy No. 3 on its list of 100 Best Companies to Work For.
