City offers rewards for volunteering at Eugene Celebration.

TO VOLUNTEER The Eugene Celebration The Eugene Celebration is an annual community celebration and civic event held in downtown Eugene, Oregon, United States. Featuring bands and performers from throughout the Pacific Northwest, the three-day festival is held in early September and attracts more than 40,000 attendees  needs about 200 volunteers for this year's event Sept. 8-10. Roll up your sleeves for a couple of hours at next month's Eugene Celebration and you could fly to watch the Duck football team play, say, Arizona Arizona (âr'əzō`nə), state in the southwestern United States. It is bordered by Utah (N), New Mexico (E), Mexico (S), and, across the Colorado R., Nevada and California (W).  State. Or Cal. Even Washington State. Or anywhere Phoenix-based America West Airlines America West Airlines was one of the United States' ten major airlines. The airline was based in Tempe, Arizona, and is now a part of US Airways Group.

At the time of its integration into US Airways, the airline maintained two hubs, one at Phoenix Sky Harbor International
 flies.

Volunteers are needed for the 24th annual Eugene Celebration from Sept. 8-10. To pull off downtown's biggest party, about 200 volunteers will be needed to staff numerous wide-ranging jobs, said Matt Purvis, a board member of Downtown Events Management Inc., a nonprofit organization Nonprofit Organization

An association that is given tax-free status. Donations to a non-profit organization are often tax deductible as well.

"You can do something good for your community and have fun at the same time," Purvis said.

Shifts last either two, three or four hours. Volunteers are needed to help staff admission gates, souvenir booths and the KidZone crafts and games area, and to help clean up the food and beer garden area.

Volunteers also are needed for the Eugene Celebration Parade and the Pet Parade.

Volunteers are the backbone of the annual event, which typically attracts up to 40,000 people during its three-day run, Purvis said.
