 Fitness & Wellness Center in honor of Joe Abrahams, director of the city's recreation department. Abrahams was honored for his 24 years of service to the city and his commitment to inform and educate Tampa citizens about the essential benefits derived from quality park and recreation resources. Approximately 150 people attended the ceremony, including the four mayors he has served. Mayors Bill Poe, Sandy Freedman and Dick Greco, along with Gov. Bob Martinez, regaled the audience with stories of contributions, achievements and legendary eating habits. Abrahams is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP CPRP
