To provide secure connectivity and reliable security, the City of Montreal will use VPN-1(R) Pro at the gateway and VPN-1 Edge UTM-1 Edge (formerly VPN-1 UTM Edge and VPN-1 Edge) is a line of firewall and VPN appliances developed by SofaWare Technologies, a Check Point company.

The Check Point VPN-1 UTM Edge product line is designed for enterprise branch offices and for teleworkers.
