City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Taps Covansys Corporation to Implement $11 Million Retirement System.

System to Improve Business Efficiencies and Processes for City, While Enhancing Customer Service

Covansys Corporation (Nasdaq: CVNS), a global consulting and technology services company, today announced that the city of Milwaukee's Employees' Retirement System (ERS) has tapped them to implement an $11 million Pension Management Information System (PMIS) that will improve business efficiency, data management and member services.

ERS, a $3.7 billion pension fund, administers retirement benefits for active or deferred city employees and participating agencies, which include any board commission, division, department, office or agency of the city. In total, ERS services 27,000 individuals, including 16,700 active and deferred members and 10,300 benefit recipients.

Utilizing Covansys' proprietary, Java-based Public Retirement Fund systems framework called Clarety, the new system will enable the city to provide more timely and efficient member services. PMIS will also be designed to increase operational efficiency due to improved common functions and shared data, while maintaining enough flexibility to address changing federal, state, and city rules and regulations.

Milwaukee ERS is the third retirement customer that has selected the Java edition since its general release in 2002.
