City of Isleton Announces Date for Its ''Family and Community'' Themed Signature Event, the ''2005 Crawdad Festival''.


ISLETON, Calif. -- City Integrates New Elements into Its Largest Annual Affair Including Jazz and Blues, Expanded Children's Activities, an Auto Pavilion and More. Father's Day Weekend Promises Music, Food, Fun!

The City of Isleton announces its "2005 Crawdad Festival" during Father's Day weekend, June 17-19, 2005. Isleton, which offers scenic, riverfront riv·er·front

 elements and historic significance to the State of California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  and its residents, prepares for 75,000 guests and visitors to this highly anticipated, annual festival. In cooperation with the City of Isleton Police and Fire Departments, a number of regional law enforcement agencies A law enforcement agency (LEA) is a term used to describe any agency which enforces the law. This may be a local or state police, federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). , the local school district, local residents as volunteers and supporters, and noted event planner Kristene Smith, the 2005 festival will be the most diverse in its programming and features since the festival's inception.

The "City of Isleton's 2005 Crawdad Festival" also has a new theme of "family and community," and seeks to attract more families to the event to solidify so·lid·i·fy

With the local school district as an event partner, the City will have access to its grounds and will present two "youth" areas: a carnival carnival, communal celebration, especially the religious celebration in Catholic countries that takes place just before Lent. Since early times carnivals have been accompanied by parades, masquerades, pageants, and other forms of revelry that had their origins in  for teens, and a "jump, paint, play" area for younger children. The City will dedicated a percentage of its profits to local youth organizations and will sponsor several reading events during the festival to promote literacy within the schools. Various bands will perform, and the signature "crawdads" are the main attraction.

Mayor Michael Gomez Michael Gomez known as "the Predator" (born Michael Armstrong, 21 June, 1977 in Longford, County Longford, Ireland) is a professional boxer who grew up in an Irish traveller family in Collyhurst, Manchester, England.  states, "Our 2005 Crawdad Festival is sure to be a memorable event and we are very pleased with the level of support and cooperation we've received so far. We have a fresh, collective perspective of making this the best festival yet." Previously produced by the Isleton Chamber of Commerce, the City of Isleton now produces the event for over 75,000 guests. Regional communities are invited to attend this signature, summer event:

              to 9:00 p.m. (no alcohol sold after 8:00 p.m.)
              Saturday, June 18, 2005, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
              (no alcohol sold after 8:00 p.m.)
              Sunday, June 19, 2005, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
              (no alcohol sold after 5:00 p.m.)
