City of Hope Honors Legendary Recording Artist and Cancer Survivor Joan Sebastian With the Lifetime Achievement Angels of Hope Award.


City of Hope:
Respected Journalists Enrique Gratas, Linda Alvarez and Jaime
 Jarrin; Popular Radio Personality Renan Almendarez Coello (El Cucuy);
               and Business Leader Guillermo de la Vina
                 Also to Receive Angels of Hope Awards

WHAT:         City of Hope Cancer Center will honor eight outstanding
              and accomplished Latinos, who have broken down barriers
              in their professions and in their communities, during
              the fifth annual Angels of Hope Award Ceremony. The
              reception will host approximately 250 distinguished
              guests and will announce key accomplishments of the
              ongoing Caminos al Exito Campaign, developed to empower
              and educate the Latino community about health and
              wellness and available resources, and to encourage
              participation in important programs such as the National
              Bone Marrow Registry. In addition to honoring
              professional Latinos who have made significant
              contributions in their respective careers, Angels of
              Hope also honors inspirational individuals who have
              overcome cancer.

              This year's awards ceremony will honor:

              -- Joan Sebastian, recording artist and cancer survivor
                 -- Lifetime Achievement Award
              -- Enrique Gratas, news anchor, Univision's "Ultima
                 Hora" -- National Achievement in Media Award
              -- Linda Alvarez, Los Angeles news anchor, CBS 2 News --
                 Regional Achievement in Media Award
              -- Guillermo de la Vina, CEO, Sigue Corporation --
                 Achievement in Business Award
              -- Renan Almendarez Coello (El Cucuy), radio
                 personality, KLAX-FM/La Raza -- Achievement in
                 Community Services Award
              -- Jaime Jarrin, Los Angeles Dodgers -- Achievement in
                 Sports Award
              -- George Navarez, cancer survivor -- Angel of Hope
                 Award
              -- Diana Arriaga, cancer survivor -- Angel of Hope Award

              Featured entertainment for the evening also includes
              internationally acclaimed Mariachi Sol de Mexico,
              musical group Bravada and local children's choir Coro
              Alegria.
