City of Hope comprises an ambulatory and in-patient cancer treatment center as well as a biomedical research facility known as the Beckman Research Institute and the City of Hope and Beckman Research Institute The Beckman Research Institute (BRI) is a research facility affiliated with the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA. It is dedicated to studying normal and abnormal biological processes which may be related to cancer. . The marathon event will be held on three successive days, Nov. 2, 3 and 4, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. "We are very proud to welcome a host of celebrity guests, to offer an outstanding holiday boutique and include a fabulous fashion production, all on behalf of City of Hope, one of the world's great cancer centers," said Senior Luncheon Vice Presidents Eunice Brown, Beverly Jacobs and Rosalie Maretsky. Center stage on Monday will be George Segal. On Tuesday Pat Boone will be recognized and on Wednesday Monty Hall will be the special guest. Highlighting the luncheon themed "Journey of Dreams" will be a fashion production staged by Carin Holmenas. Featured designers will include fashion from the LIOLA boutique of Beverly Hills, menswear by Jhane Barnes in Century City, Travilla and furs by Edwards-Lowell. Special recognition will be given to Dr. Vittorio Giulini, chief executive officer of LIOLA, who is making a special trip to Los Angeles from Milan, Italy, to be honored during the luncheon.
