City of Fort Worth deploys Microsoft Windows 95 and Office 95; City of Fort Worth adopts the Microsoft BackOffice and Office 95 suite of applications.


FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 24, 1995--Today, with the click of a mouse, mayor Kay Granger Kay Granger (born January 18 1943), a Republican politician from the U.S. state of Texas, currently represents the 12th congressional district (map) in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Practionary Inc. began working with the City of Fort Worth by introducing the Microsoft BackOffice line of products, which include Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. Microsoft Systems Management Server Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) is a systems management software product by Microsoft for managing large groups of Windows-based computer systems. SMS provides remote control, patch management, software distribution, and hardware and software inventory.  is being used to deploy Windows 95 and Office 95 throughout the city, saving over 70 percent of the support costs normally associated with rolling out new technology. Windows 95 utilizes the Windows NT Domain Security to grant access to users. Remote Policy and Registry Tools provide the ability to change and enforce network policies, thereby reducing support costs and security issues. The integration of Office 95 with both Windows 95 and Microsoft BackOffice will make users more productive.
